The research I referenced during the presentation: Therefore, the alternate Hypothesis (Ha) which stated” SQR3 method is effective in teaching student’s reading comprehension” is accepted ( Hijril Ismail, 2005) Results revealed that SQR3 and TPS groups outperformed the learners who did not receive any treatment ( Izadi & Zare-Behtash, 2016) The paired-samples t-test and ANOVA analysis of learners’ performances indicated that SQR3 and TPS learners significantly outperformed on their post-tests compared with their peers in the control group (Khaghaninejad, M. S. ., Saadabadimotlagh, H. ., & Kowsari, S. . (2015). Some notes: -Survey the text before reading to understand the topic and main idea -Look at the title & headings, pictures and graphics -Skim the introduction/conclusion; Pay attention to first and last sentences -Write down any questions you have about the material from your survey -These questions help you focus on the main ideas as you read, and generally help you keep your focus. -Next, read the passage/story and look for answers to your questions as you read. -Recite: Look away from the text and try to put it in your own words. This helps you boost your memory and helps you figure out what you don't understand. -After reciting, you'll review what you've learned and review your answers to the questions you came up with. -What I've just described is an overview of the "traditional" SQR3 reading strategy. You'll want to take the basics and adapt it to the GED test, which I show you how to do in the video.
