PALETTE KNIFE CHALLENGE! Today's session will be a great way to start experimenting with painting with the PALETTE KNIFE! Because that’s what today’s live session is all about 🙂 After quickly roughing in the background and the cloth with brushes, I’m going to paint the entirity of the brass jug only with the palette knife. Paint along! Challenge yourself! Have fun! What’s the worst that could happen? You don’t like your painting but learn something anyway! What’s the best that could happen? You surprise yourself with what you painted and you still learn something. Literally nothing to lose but a little time and some paint. The app I use to investigate the colour is called ChromaMagic. You can find it on the Apple and Google Play stores, and there is also a Windows version. It's very inexpensive and extremely useful! If you struggle at all with judging values and colours, or with mixing, this is a great tool to help you calibrate your estimates by giving you immediate feedback on how close your guesses come.
