For the weekend, we have another video chosen by our great supporters on Patreon. In it we look at two rifles developed for use in World War II by the Swedish military. First, we have the M38 Mauser short rifle. Basically this was a shortened version of Sweden's M96 infantry rifle. In fact early on, these were created by simply cutting down Gustav M96s, and then during the war all new M38 rifles were manufactured by Husqvarna. Next, we have the country's first self-loading or semi-automatic rifle, the AG-42 (aka Ljungman to many Americans). This very interesting rifle was designed by Erik Eklund over a very short period of time right in the middle of WWII. It operated using a Russian SVT40 inspired bolt and direct impingement gas system. Both rifles continued the use of the very accurate and flat shooting 6.5x55mm Swede cartridge.
