We’ve faced the fear of stepping out many times in our own lives. Sometimes, we find ourselves waiting for God to miraculously break through, but we are unwilling to leave the security of the boat. Or maybe we want to step out, but we’re waiting till we can muster up enough courage and faith in order to step out. Has this ever been you too? Stepping out could be described as an act of faith where we do something that requires forward motion. One of our favorite stories about this is when Jesus invited Peter to step out of the boat (Matthew 14). In the midst of a storm, Peter had the audacity to take that first step onto the water leaving the realm of the possible into the realm of the impossible. Peter harnessed that mustard seed of faith, took the plunge, and is the only man besides Jesus who ever walked on water that we know of.
