Coastal Sea fishing on the West Coast of Scotland for Spurdogs | PLUS Pigeon and Rabbit Al Fresco

With the beginnings of the, what now feels like never-ending, period of relentless strong westerlies crashing ashore, options for a relatively comfortable day on the rocks were, to say the least, limited. Nevertheless, we opted to take our chances regardless, and headed for a reasonably new mark that has proven fruitful in the past and would hopefully shield us from the worst of the weather. With probably challenging fishing lying in wait, we were taking no chances with lunch, and stopped off, enroute, at a favoured mushroom mark, in the hope of supplementing some freshly shot game with some tasty fungi. In hindsight, that decision proved to be the making of the day, as a productive ramble in the woods provided a stunning collection of gourmet mushrooms. This turned out to be the highlight of the day, as our planned quarry for the day, had other ideas. We still managed a few fish throughout the day, even if we did need to deviate from the plans slightly.
