"Easy Listening" is a 1966 album by Carmen Cavallaro, an American pianist and bandleader who was popular during the 1940s and 1950s. The album is a collection of instrumental arrangements of popular songs, including "Strangers in the Night," "The Shadow of Your Smile," and "Moon River." Cavallaro was known for his smooth and sophisticated style of playing, which incorporated glittering and rippling arpeggios, as well as thick and lush chords. He had a broad range of musical interests, including dance music, Latin rhythms, tangos, and classical music, which he often arranged in pop and jazz styles. Cavallaro was influenced by other popular pianists of his time, such as Eddy Duchin, and he in turn influenced other musicians, including Liberace. All three shared a talent for arranging classical piano themes in a pop idiom, which helped to popularize the music and make it more accessible to a wider audience. "Easy Listening" is a great example of Cavallaro's style and musical interests, and it showcases his talent as a pianist and arranger. The album has been digitized and is available through the Internet Archive, thanks to the generous support of the Kahle-Austin Foundation. Love Theme From "Madame X" Carmen Cavallaro was an American pianist and bandleader who was popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Cavallaro was known for his smooth and sophisticated style of playing, and he had several hits on the pop charts during his career. Cavallaro began his career playing in dance bands and on radio programs, and he later went on to lead his own orchestra. He recorded many popular songs, including "Body and Soul," "Tangerine," and "Cocktails for Two." He was also known for his interpretations of the music of other popular artists, such as the Gershwins and Cole Porter. Cavallaro's style of playing was often compared to that of another famous pianist, Liberace, and the two musicians were sometimes considered rivals. Despite this, Cavallaro remained popular throughout his career, and his music continues to be enjoyed by many today.
