Born and bred in Johannesburg Soweto, Kaki moved with her parents to Limpopo when she was thirteen, and she finished high school and matriculated in 1999. She then enrolled with the University of Venda in the year 2000 for a degree in nursing science and graduated in 2004. She started to work as a midwife in May 2004 at Leratong Hospital in Gauteng for 2 years then moved to Cape Town in 2006. She worked in Khayelitsha district hospital, Tygerberg Hospital and is now the Nursing manager of labour ward at New Somerset hospital. She studied further with the University of Stellenbosch in 2007 and 2011, where she obtained post graduate qualifications in Advanced Midwifery and Nursing Management. Her interests are: God and Christianity (she desires to know all that there is, that God allows the human inner man to comprehend), reading, spending time with her family, pregnant women because she finds pregnant women as special and beautiful. From a young age it has always amazed and fascinated her, how life begins, is formed and comes to being in a woman’s body, and also women’s health in general.
