Back to Finish the Climb | Mount Fukube Hiking Vlog

In this hiking vlog, I document my journey to the summit of Mount Fukube in Kataji Valley, Mino, Gifu Prefecture. This climb is special because it is my second attempt to reach the top. On my previous hike, heavy snowfall made the trail disappear completely. Visibility dropped, the path became unreadable, and I had to turn back before reaching the summit. This time, I return with clearer weather and another chance. The trail begins dry and gentle through the lower forest, but as I gain elevation, winter slowly takes over. Snow covers the path, each step becoming heavier and slower, stretching the time it takes to reach the summit. Step by step, I share what I see, what I think about, and what moves through my mind while climbing higher. Reaching the top rewards the effort with wide panoramic views toward the distant Northern Japanese Alps, connecting the quiet ridges of Mino with Japan’s towering mountain skyline. A return. A quieter mountain.
