This tutorial video is aimed at volunteers and self-recorders who are enrolled with the Portable Antiquities Scheme (UK). It describes how to create a database record for brooches from the early medieval period, including what terminology to use, a brief history and some tips on how to identify them. This video, part two, looks at the brooches from the middle to late stages of the early medieval period, drawing on the work of Dr. Rosie Weetch for the Anglo-Saxon brooches, and the work of Dr. Jane Kershaw for the Scandinavian and Anglo-Scandinavian brooches. You can use the time stamps below to navigate through the different sections. Further guidance is available in our Finds Recording Guide for brooches: https://finds.org.uk/counties/findsre... This video was produced as part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported PASt Explorers Project.
