EA Sports NHL '96 - All-star Season 1 Stars Game 3 | The Stars Face a Challenge Against Chicago

The top-rated Blackhawks came to Dallas for Game 3. After two 6-0 wins in a row the Stars were confident. The 1st period proved difficult as the Chicago goaltender, Ed Beflour, turned back everything the Stars could muster in their 19 shots. Andy Moog was solid as well but only faced 5 shots and stopped them all too. The 1st period ended tied at 0-0. It took another 8 shots before Dallas could solve Belfour. With 12:00 left in the 2nd period Mike Modano scored top-blocker-side with a backhander from right in front off a pass from Trent Klatt in the corner of the circle. Less than 2 minutes later Chris Chelios scored on the powerplay with a hard shot from the point off a Jeremy Roenick face-off win. That left the game tied 1-1 at the 2nd intermission with Dallas still having the advantage in chances at DAL 35 and CHI 14. Dallas kept the pressure on in the 3rd period and Modano got the Stars a 1-goal lead with 11:58 to go when he went top-blocker-side again from between the hashes off a nice pass from Derian Hatcher. About two-and-a-half minutes later that duo struck again with Modano going 5-hole with a hard, low shot on Belfour to make the score 3-1 and give Dallas a bit of breathing room. Although Chicago pulled Belfour for an extra attacker in the last minute, they didn't score and neither did Dallas. The Stars won their hardest game yet by a score of 3-1. Enjoy!
