Technology-facilitated GBV is a growing phenomenon that includes stalking, bullying, and sexual harassment based on sexual and gender identity, carried out online. During this event, NORC at the University of Chicago and the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) shared the results of their research related to the trends in technology-facilitated GBV, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a closer look at the state of tech-facilitated GBV in India, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia. We also presented recommendations for future programming and research priorities in the region, and opened a dialogue with attendees on how to prevent, mitigate, and respond to technology-facilitated GBV in the region. This work was funded by USAID under the Democracy, Human Rights and Governance Learning, Evaluation and Research (DRG-LER) II Activity. Speakers included: Dr. Laura Hinson, ICRW's Senior Social & Behavioral Scientist and Nicole Goodrich, Senior Advisor of Democracy, Governance, Peace, and Security at the Asia Bureau Technical Services at USAID (welcome remarks) Karen Freeman, USAID Assistant Administrator for Asia (opening remarks) Dr. Laura Hinson, ICRW (panel moderator) Mithila Iyer, NORC at the University of Chicago Research Assistant Poulomi Pal – ICRW consultant
