The Black Duck Foods charity is an “absolute no lose” entity as donors pay Bruce Pascoe for all his farm costs while he charges them $500 for a Welcome to Country, Quadrant Online journalist Tony Thomas claims. Nearly $2 million has been donated to Black Duck Foods from governments, corporates, foundations and “mums and dads” in the three years to last June, according to Mr Thomas. “Black Duck Foods is a charity and it’s got all this money from charitable donors and it is hiring the labour, it is building sheds, it is repairing fences, it’s bought all of Bruce’s farm gear – the tractors and the odds and sods – for $90,000 roughly cash,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “Pascoe, instead of having his farm as a sort of cash drain, he now has every cost picked up by the charity called Black Duck Foods, under the presumption that Black Duck Foods is pioneering for Australia a whole new agricultural paradigm, involving grass seeds and whatever.”
