Sewing Machine Minnesota Model H Antique Treadle! WORKING & Complete. Available for sale locally (around Illinois zip code 61231) asking $220 or best offer. The above video is a simple demonstration showing the working condition of this lovely old Minnesota Treadle. I'm utterly unskilled at using a treadle, and you can see that this machine goes easy on a beginner. So, if you're looking for a working treadle sewing machine, and you're in my area, you've found your darling! It's far more forgiving, well made, and long-lived than modern machines 3 times this price. This sturdy treadle has a lifetime (at least) of reliable service left to devote to you. The Minnesota model H was manufactured in the 1920s for Sears, Roebuck, and Company. 100+ years later & this workhorse is still going strong. No electricity, just pedal power, required - though you can use the handwheel, too. This Minnesota model H is housed in a 6 drawer, wooden cabinet. The lower left drawer has a tendency to stick at about halfway, but opens fully with coaxing. The machine folds easily away when not in use, or being displayed. The lid's wood veneer is lifting in places. 100 years of work will do that, but you could surely replace it if you like. The original manual, box of accessories, model specific bobbins, and 2 new leather treadle belts (one is installed on the machine already) are all included. This machine is fit for antique collectors, historical sewists, and those who simply wish to live more.... simply. That might even be you! If you have any questions whatsoever, don't hesitate to ask. I also have a video of myself using the machine to sew a little sample swatch & let you see it in action. I'm a hand sewist, so my treadle machine action is rather more like slow motion, but motion nonetheless. You'll no doubt leave me in the dust with a little practice. If this treadle fits that need in your heart, please contact me.
