📽️ Teaching Creative Dance in a Preschool – Part 2 Spot Markers, Licensing Rules, and On-the-Fly Adjustments Welcome back for Part 2 of my Teaching Creative Dance in a Preschool behind-the-scenes vlog! In this follow-up, I’m sharing a few updates based on how the class evolved with a smaller group of dancers and the real-life changes I made in the moment. 🟢 Classroom Update: Spot Marking with Velcro Carpet Dots With a smaller class size this week, I decided to use velcro carpet dots to mark each dancer’s spot on the rug. These soft, low-profile markers are perfect for preschool classrooms where space is limited and flexibility is key. You’ll see how I arranged them and how they helped my dancers stay oriented and engaged. 👟 Shoe Policy: What You Need to Know I also give a quick but important reminder about licensing and footwear rules when teaching in schools or preschools. In my case, we were allowed to have the dancers remove their shoes, which made movement easier and safer on carpeted floors. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Licensing laws vary from state to state. Some may require children to remain in their shoes for safety or health reasons. Be sure to check with your school or facility director before planning any barefoot activities! 🌟 A Quick Recap of What You’ll See: How I adapt class when fewer dancers attend Using velcro dots for quick, effective classroom organization A candid reminder about licensing considerations when teaching in outside facilities Continued emphasis on flexibility, creativity, and concept-based instruction 🎥 If you missed Part 1, where I showed the full classroom setup and our apple tree obstacle course, you can watch it here: • Teaching Creative Dance in a Preschool - A... 📚 Want more creative preschool dance inspiration?
