TRIP REPORT | Sky Alps opby. Nyxair ATR 42-500 | AOI-FCO | BQ1926

During the summer of 2024, the Italian regional airline Sky Alps has been wet-leasing an ATR 42 from the Estonian Nyxair for their Ancona operations - join me as I fly on it to Rome. Overall, the flight was quite enjoyable. Well on time, nice service for such a short flight, and our Latvian steward seemed friendly enough (though unlike on the "mainline" Sky Alps, there were no Italian-speaking crew). Ticket price was acceptable too at 73€ one-way, but there is a catch - this fare is reserved for residents of the Marche region, students and seniors, among other age groups. Also, no checked baggage was included at the time; just a large carry-on and a personal item. Other than that, it was nice to get an ATR 42 for a change, which I hadn't flown since 2008 (whereas the ATR 72 I have flown numerous times over the last few years).
