Douglas Phillips demonstrates throwing an ingenious salt shaker on the potter's wheel (the video includes a cutaway view of a salt shaker showing its construction). See my other videos for more demonstrations or visit the Ridge Pottery website http://www.mud2fire.com. I’ve taken several videos at Ridge Pottery Summer Schools. The demonstrations are informal, often impromptu, and show a particular making technique and/or illustrate elements of a pot’s shape, form and function. As well as the demonstration there is often discussion with students that lend the videos an informal quality which (I think) adds to their interest and enjoyment.
