Often referred to as one of the prettiest villages in the UK, Clovelly is a private estate owned by the Hamlyn family since the 18th century. Clovelly village is known for its unique character and charm, with a labyrinth of winding, cobbled streets that are car-free. Instead, donkeys are used to carry goods up and down the steep hill. Here are some of the top reasons to visit Clovelly: The village is virtually unchanged from centuries ago, with traditional fisherman's cottages, a working harbour, and a timeless atmosphere.
