Images have emerged of Central American migrants, including women and children, crammed together in detention facilities at the United States border, increasing pressure on President Joe Biden’s administration over immigration policy amid a sudden surge in arrivals to the US. Immigration officials report that more than 9,000 unaccompanied children entered the US in February and since then, an average of 500 a day have come through.
