We will rescue Victoria from overly easy and not particularly accurate comparisons to the Greek goddess Nike, and reclaim her crowning place in Roman religion and Roman identity from republic to empire. *** This is the eleventh in an ancient history series that explores Roman religion behind the veil of Greek mythology.
