Recipe Below Quick & Easy Bagels Yield: 8 Bagels Ingredients 2 ¼ tsp Instant Yeast 1 ½ cup Warm Water (About 110°F) 2 Tbsp Sugar 3 ½-4 cups All Purpose Flour (If the dough is still sticky once mixed add more flour to help form a soft dough) 2 tsp Salt 1-2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese Procedure 1. Bloom yeast in warm water. Measure your water and add 1-2 tsp sugar to the water. Add your yeast and lightly giggle your measuring cup to swirl the yeast and water together. 2. Add remaining ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment. 3. Once the yeast has bloomed add that to the bowl and begin to knead the dough on low speed, increasing as the dough takes in more flour. 4. Increase to high speed and knead the dough until it begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. 5. On a lightly floured surface turn the dough out and begin to knead by hand until the dough comes together in a soft, smooth ball. 6. In a large bowl sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, put your dough in the bowl so the oiled bowl coats the entire surface of the dough. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm spot until doubled in size. 7. Once the dough has doubled in size, approximately about 45 minutes to 1 hour in time. 8. Using an electric scale, divide the dough into 8 equal portions. 9. Roll each ball into a log and wrap around your hand and roll the edges together. (Creating a donut like shape) 10. Place rounds onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 11. Preheat oven to 350°F and cover baking sheet with a tea towel. Allow bagels to rise for 20-30 minutes on top the oven. 12. Once doubled, brush each bagel with egg wash and top with shredded cheese. 13. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown. 14. Let cool completely on a cooling rack before storing in an airtight container. Egg Wash: one egg beaten with a splash of water or milk.
