Malhaar celebrates the festival of India! Enjoy this special Ganesh Utsav performance by our young violinists, students of Guru Oindra Kumar Dutta. Dedicated to Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles and the symbol of new beginnings — this presentation takes the audience on a rich musical journey filled with devotion, rhythm, and classical artistry. The performance begins with a Ganesh Vandana, invoking divine blessings and setting a serene tone. This is followed by a Hindustani classical recital in Raag Yaman, set to Teen Taal, unfolding through a peaceful Aalap, expressive short taans, expansive broad taans, and concluding with a vibrant Nagma accompanying an energetic Tabla solo — reflecting both discipline and creativity. The second half marks a powerful festive transition with “Rhythm of India”, featuring an ensemble of traditional and world percussion instruments including Nashik Dhol, Dhaak, Pakhawaj, Tabla, Darbuka, and Djembe. The segment culminates in a joyful Ganesh Aarti, filling the space with devotion and celebration.
