While we’re doing actual work, the war vote is live and people are overwhelmingly choosing to destroy the Automaton planet Penta. Why? No idea. I voted to delete a hive world—bugs on hive worlds are misery, and player numbers always nose-dive when the Major Order is “enjoy the infestation.” People are strange; this ballot just proves it. Operation modifiers here are gunship patrols and Poor Intel, so objectives are hidden and the sky is never quiet. I’m running the AR-2 Coyote with the FS-05 Marksman heavy set for 50% explosive resistance, bringing along the A/MLS-4X Rocket Sentry, 500kg Eagle, LIFT-850 Jump Pack, and LAS-99 Quasar Cannon. Same squad of randoms as the last two missions: two level 150s and two newer divers. We split into pairs—each vet with a lowbie—pushing across the map, using the terrain to avoid getting ragdolled off every ridge while clearing fuel stations, power, launch consoles, and a few side objectives. Clone usage stayed under control; I never touched one, and we did our best to keep the newer divers out of the clone shop unless the bots really insisted. They pulled their weight this round, dropping stratagems, watching angles, and learning the ropes without whining—which is all we can really ask. With the ICBM launched and the checklist cleared, we regrouped at the LZ, shredded the last Automaton push, and everyone made a clean extraction. Four stars earned, bots reduced to scrap, and two newer Helldivers a little less green than when they dropped. Recorded on a dedicated PC through a capture card with MSI Afterburner running for real-time GPU/CPU stats, played in 4K Ultra on an RTX 5090 and i7-14700K.
