With the release of our new limited edition Samy Morales 25th Anniversary Steel 8x14 Snare we just simply couldn't resist putting Samy's two signature snares up agains each other head to head. Keep in mind that these two snares are supposed to sound similar and work well together when needed. We wanted the steel to be a little more crisp but we also wanted to make sure that either one could do the trick no matter what the situation is. Here is a demo of the two snares up agains each other, both tuned to 400hz reso and 250hz batter. One single moongel on the batter head. Reso head is the Evans Snare Side 300 and the batter is the Evans HD Dry. No change in EQ or anything with the Ableton project here, just a simple snare swap and hear the differences. Since the snares are very similar you may need headphones to really analyze the difference in tone.
