Beautiful Newcastle Beach & the Mourne Mountains

After spending the morning in Dundrum at the castle ruin, we took the bus into Newcastle for lunch, a walk on the beach, a wander in the shops, and a stop at The Cookie Jar for their oaty shortbread biscuits. The weather was fine so we enjoyed another walk back up the beach, spied some jellyfish, and then just sat along the promenade, taking in the views with an ice cream from Maud's...and absolute must. Later in the day, when taking the train from Belfast back to Bangor, we spotted a naval vessel making its way up and out of the Belfast Lough. For two landlocked Canadians, it was definitely a curious sight at the end of a wonderful day out.
