Here's a first-timer for the Arriva-owned vehicles on this channel! HT1, the first of it's batch is a good-looking E400MMC Hybrid, made in 2020 which inevitably was going to be an UltraCap variant, short for Ultra-Capacitor. As most clued-up people know these buses are a literal cheat code for regen content, revving whilst braking at most opportunities downhill and sometimes on flat depending how long the motor has been drawing power from the battery. Here on a late-night in South London the bus is floored through the flats and attacks several inclines including the great Anerley Hill which has a gradient of 11.7%! Did it scale it? Yes... just about 😂. Due to these gradients there are multiple sections of the bus regenning longer than 10 seconds, one section being almost 20!!! and all-round the bus is constantly floored up to the high 30/mid-40mph speeds, allowing the axles to sing as they do with these variants. I genuinely prefer them sound wise as them axles are far more audible from lower speeds as opposed to the older versions.
