Har Ki Doon is a cradle shaped valley and offers natural beauty as it is a remote area its beauty is till unaffected by human activities. It is in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This scenic beauty is 3566 meters above sea level.It is situated at the base of Fateh Parvat and it lies in the valley of ancient Swargarohini Peak. If you desire to see alpine beauty and lush greenery then visit the place during summers and if you are into trekking during snowfall then winter is season for you. The place is simply a must visit for all birds lovers. Har Ki Doon falls in the area of Govind Pashu Vihar wildlife sanctuary so many wildlife animals can be seen. Har Ki Doon is 5 km below Jaundhar Glacier (4300 feet) and if you are fit and desire to see it you can simply trek from Har Ki Doon till there. The place gives a magnificent view of Bandar Poonch, Kala Nag and Har Ki Dun peak itself. Many beautiful villages will cross your path during this trek like Taluka, Gandad, and Osla etc. Osla is famous for its Duryodhna temple as it is the largest in the city. The people over there believe that they are the descendents of the soldiers who fought on the side of Kauravas. The trek is fairly easy but it depends on your physical fitness. The trek is recommended for beginner trekkers. Camping at beautiful sites and walking through dense forests where you might be able to catch the view of birds or animals and the amazing view is calling out to you. ________________________________________ About OSLA Village: An isolated village of Uttarakhand in a Uttarkashi district of Garhwal Himalayas situated at an altitude of 2600 meter approximately where the village still has no electricity, no network, and no road they still have to trek 4 km to reach the Osla village, In winter temperature drops to -15c and the place also surrounded with wild animals like snow leopard, black bear osla village located in Govind pashu vihar national park people of Osla village. The people of Osla are very simple and live self sustained lifestyle. The livelihood depends on the farming of apples, Aalo, Rajma, and rice because the terrain is mountainous, so they use terraced fields. In animal Husbandry, many families depend on the rearing of sheep and goats, which provide them with wool for clothes, milk, and meat. Because this is a trekking route, some people from Osla village raise mules to carry goods and supplies for the trek, and nowadays, homestays are also part of their earning source because of the trekking route. From Osla Village, there are many treks, and one of the popular treks of Uttarakhand is Har Ki Dun Valley, which is also called as Valley of God. If you are starting your journey from Dehradun, then the Dehradun to Sankri village distance is approximately 190 km. And from sankri after crossing the forest checkpoint you can drive to Osla Village, though roads aren’t very good, but can drive to the village.
