#India #travel #rajasthan Miriam Lancewood traveled in October and November 2025 with her 73 year old mum to India. She uploaded 3 short videos, this is part 3: Rajasthan. Coming from the Himalaya, they first visited Haridwar on the Ganges and Delhi, before boarding a train to Rajasthan. There they stayed in Udaipur, Pushkar and Jaipur. They were particularly interested in the traditional way of making blockprint (for making patterns on fabric). They saw the very skilled men at work in the streets of Sanganer, on the edge of Jaipur. They stayed in a very good, spacious and especially affordable hotel in Udaipur, called Udaipur View Guesthouse. And in Pushkar they stayed in Diamond Hotel, with monkeys for your entertainment, and with an owner who looks after you as if he's a family member. For any queries regarding traveling in Rajasthan or India, please don't hesitate to contact her via her website miriamlancewood.com. **** Miriam Lancewood lived with her husband Peter for seven years in the wilderness of New Zealand. They left civilisation in 2010 and walked into the mountains with not much more than a backpack. They lived without technology, not even a clock. They roamed around like nomads, slept in a tent, cooked on a fire and Miriam learned to hunt with bow and arrow. Like our ancestors, they lived from hunting and gathering. Their observations and experiences are unique in this technological world. Since Miriam met Peter in 2006, they have been nomadic and lived and traveled in many different countries. At present however, they are living in an off-grid shepherds cottage in the Rodopi mountains in Bulgaria. Miriam's memoir 'Woman in the Wilderness', became an international Bestseller, translated into 5 languages. Dutch, German, French, Portuguese, and Chinese. In 2020 the sequel 'Wild at heart' came out and won an important prize in New Zealand. In 2023 she co-edited a new publication called 'Wilder Journeys'. In 2025 she wrote her latest book, called 'Alone in the world'. The Dutch translation (Overleven in de wildernis) has already been released last September. The English version will be published in April 2026. Check miriamlancewood.com for more.
