He played key roles in projects ranging from “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers”, “Chronicles of Riddick”, and “2012” to Marvel productions like “Doctor Strange” and “Black Panther”. At FMX he went into detail about the “old-school” effects filmmaking in the Amazon series “I’m A Virgo” by director Boots Riley, including in-camera effects with forced perspective shooting, large and small puppets, miniatures, practical effects and many specialized scale set-ups. “I’m a Virgo” was nominated for a VES Award for Best Practical FX. The next Day, Todd delivered a masterclass on how to set up a forced perspective shoot, right there at FMX as a hands-on demo for attendees.
