E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, one of the most celebrated films of all time, was released in 1982. Its director, Steven Spielberg, once again employed the musical services of the legendary John Williams, who produced one of his most enchanting and memorable scores. This is a new piano transcription of the closing credits. Rather unusually for John Williams, the original credits actually begin with an extraordinary piano solo, before the full orchestra gradually takes over and a gradual crescendo leads to the soaring "Flying" theme. The current performance begins with this solo, and then the remainder of the score has been realised in a highly virtuosic way, as an attempt to do justice to the richness of Williams' score!
