Here's how it went down: After a great trip from Pitts to Alamo, We conducted a Pitts to Plains excursion the next day with Narcoa. I was with Bob Hastings of Cincinatti with his "Orange Crush" speeder. We had no problems with the trip, until we reached Cordele. Radio starts buzzing: Those look like train cars on our track. another person: Naw, that's impossible. Mike, the HOG RR foreman, says, yep those are train cars! Turns out csx dropped off 25 cars to be interchanged, and didnt know of the speeder run. SO they got the HOG crew, and we get this once in a blue moon rare sunday run of the HOG freight, going to salvage the cars! The return trip will be next in this video series.
