On the morning of February 11th, the day before the first full moon, the community gathered under ancient guardian trees to pray for peace and prosperity. The Seokpo-ri Dangsan-je represents a unique blend of faiths, established as Naesosa Temple—founded during the reign of King Mu of Baekje—embraced local folk beliefs. Unlike typical village-led rituals, this guardian ceremony is led by the temple, creating a precious cultural heritage where Buddhist and folk traditions coexist. The 2025 event was scaled back due to unavoidable circumstances such as budget constraints, skipping large-scale festivities like the crafting of the 'Dragon Rope.' However, the dedication to tradition remained steadfast through the sacred rituals led by the monks and the sincere offerings made by the villagers. Although the tradition had once faded, it was restored to its original form in 2009 through the dedicated efforts of Naesosa's head monk, Ven. Jinhak, and the local residents.
