I Didn’t Know Pakistan Was Like That 🇵🇰

In this video I travel in the North of Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan. I wanted to do this video because I’m amazed by the kindness and generosity of Pakistani. Pakistan suffers from a bad reputation worldwide, often associated with terrorism and attacks. What I discovered in this country is a world apart from that. I started this trip next to Skardu, in a hotel on the side of the road where I pitched my tent for free. I had breakfast with delicious chai and egg-paratha, the classic Pakistani breakfast. An hour later Alif and Haroun, two teachers who picked me up, invited me for some chai and paratha. Then I met Bashir Ahmed whom I stayed for the rest of the video. We really get along with each other, had cool and funny discussions. Highlights of our meeting: We get controlled by the police and learned how to fasten our seatbelt I taught Ahmed how to say I love you in French He told me he was 14 years old, I didn’t believe him We drank chai (again) We danced on Pakistani music (music from Shina ethnic group particularly) He said I had a nice face, so I don’t have to wash it too much We exchanged about a sad tradition that is happening in the northern area of Pakistan. Some families kill their son, brother or daughter, sister because they had a boyfriend/girlfriend before marriage. In Islam it is indeed not possible to date before get married but these people go to the point of murdering their own family members to avoid dishonoring. Obviously this isn’t representative at all of Pakistani population. I hope you’ll enjoy this video and that it can inspire you to follow your own dreams. Thank you for watching.
