Mr. Jeff from MACkite gives a thorough rundown of one of his go-to pieces of gear for wing foiling—the 2025 Mystic Majestic Wing Harness. A longtime favorite at the shop and among regular riders, the Majestic is designed for those who've moved beyond the beginner stage and are looking to extend their sessions while taking pressure off their arms and shoulders. Jeff recommends harnesses once you’re comfortably riding both directions, maybe working on jibes or spending more time on the water. While some riders argue you don’t need a harness, he’s firmly in the camp that they make a noticeable difference, especially when it comes to upwind performance and reducing fatigue. The Mystic Majestic hits a sweet spot between soft and stiff. It’s rated at 4 out of 10 for overall stiffness and 8 out of 10 for torsional stiffness, which means it isn’t overly rigid but still does a great job of dispersing the load evenly around your waist. Jeff, who has logged hundreds of miles in this harness, vouches for its comfort and lower back support, noting that he has had zero back pain and far less arm fatigue while using it. He dives into the features, starting with the dual Velcro side closures that allow you to access the interior from either side. Each has a tongue-style insert that locks into place securely and is backed up by an over-the-top Velcro flap. Jeff mentions he’s never had the harness pop open under pressure. The hook system is also worth noting. It slides out of the way when you’re climbing on your board, so it won’t ding up your deck, and easily slides back into place when you’re ready to ride. The hook is designed to hold your harness line securely without being a hassle to get in or out of—it’s simple, intuitive, and works without needing to glance down. Around back, the Majestic has two leash attachment points. These are typically used for a board and a wing leash, and Jeff explains a couple of common methods for rigging: using a carabiner or a lark’s head knot. He suggests loosening the harness to reach the attachment loops more easily, especially when you’re gearing up on shore. Another standout aspect of the harness is its fit and construction. It wraps snugly with just enough flex to remain comfortable while transferring wing power efficiently. The foam used doesn’t absorb water, so it stays light even after long sessions. Additionally, there's a touch of built-in flotation—although Jeff still recommends wearing an impact or float vest for proper safety. Retailing just over $200, Jeff makes a solid case that the Mystic Majestic is well worth the investment for intermediate to advanced wingers. It not only helps extend your water time but also provides support and comfort that makes the whole experience more enjoyable. He adds that when transitioning to a harness, you don’t need to go full hook-in right away—you can simply use it as a waist attachment point for your board leash, then gradually get used to harness lines, which are sold separately. Jeff closes with a practical sizing tip: the harness runs small. He’s a 32–33” waist and wears a large, which fits comfortably both with and without a wetsuit. His final thought? This is a harness he genuinely loves and rides all the time.
