The Powder Seeker six-pack bubble chair at Big Sky is a 2016 Doppelmayr built to replace the aging Lone Peak Triple (1973 Heron-Poma). This lift might be the shortest six-pack I have ever seen, but it serves some of the finest terrain I have ever skied in The Bowl at Big Sky. Powder Seeker also provides access to the famous Lone Peak Tram. This lift is a Doppelmayr bubble six-pack fabricated mostly in Wolfurt, Austria. This lift features a European Uni-G-M bottom fixed drive with contour loading, Chairkit gates, and an indoor chair parking facility. The top terminal is a European Uni-G-S tensioned return (the tension carriage is so short because the lift is only 2701 feet long). The chairs are Doppelmayr’s fancy European 6E98B blue bubble six passenger chairs with heated seats, headrests, and funny footrests that I’m not a fan of. The seat heating is charged via a rail that contacts brushes on the DT-108 grip to charge a battery that lasts until the top. The lifting frames are Doppelmayr’s European lifting frames with a 6.1 meter line gauge. There are two different types of sheaves on this lift: the standard Doppelmayr sheaves (smaller diameter) and much larger Doppelmayr sheaves that I have never seen in North America. This is by far the most comfortable lift that I have ever ridden, and Boyne Resorts has other bubble chairs planned at Big Sky in the future. Recorded on February 15, 2018
