Why Marriage Matters [Documentary]

In January, the freedom to marry came to Florida and thousands of couples have been married. This June, the Supreme Court will issue a decision that could bring the freedom to marry nationwide. Equality Florida teamed up with the University of Tampa to produce "Why Marriage Matters." Five same-sex couples, who were recently married or planning to marry soon, explain the importance of having the freedom to marry. Regardless of age, gender, race, or length of relationship, they demonstrate that marriage is about love, commitment and family. Same-sex couples make a commitment in their lives that should be respected under law, with the full protections and respect that come with marriage.
