Ehud – God’s Unlikely Warrior Ehud was the second judge of Israel. His story is found in Judges 3:12–30. After Israel once again did evil in the sight of God, the Lord allowed King Eglon of Moab to rule over them for eighteen years. The people cried out to God for help. God answered by raising up Ehud. Ehud was left-handed. In those days, being left-handed was unusual and sometimes seen as weakness. But God chose him to defeat a powerful enemy king. Ehud made a short sword, hid it, and used wisdom and courage to strike down Eglon. After that, he led Israel to victory. The land had peace for eighty years. This story may sound surprising, but it teaches something very important: God is in control. He chooses whom He wants. He uses unexpected people. He saves His people in ways that show His power, not human strength. 📖 Bible Readings: Judges 3:12–30 (Judges 2:18, Psalm 115:3, 1 Corinthians 1:27–29, Romans 9:15–16) 👨🏻💻 Teachings: When we are under God’s discipline: 1. God strengthens our oppressors. 2. God submits us to oppression. 3. God rescues us upon repentance. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Repent early and quickly. 2. Be humble in accepting God’s discipline. 3. Remain under God’s blessing and protection. 🎙 Discussion: What is the right attitude when God disciplines us? 🤿 Dive Deeper: Jesus is the Greater Ehud. 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, when You discipline me, help me not to resist or complain. Remind me that even when You strengthen oppressors and allow hardship, You are still righteous and loving. Keep me from pride, and teach me to repent early and quickly. Give me a humble heart that accepts Your correction without bitterness. Guard me from drifting further into sin, and keep me under Your blessing and protection. Thank You that You do not leave me in oppression but rescue me when I turn back to You. Above all, thank You for Jesus, the Greater Ehud, my true Deliverer. In Jesus' name, Amen.
