Why do so many practitioners struggle with visibility, authority, and sustainability, even after years of training and inner work? Across cultures and throughout history, healers, mystics, midwives, astrologers, herbalists, and spiritual practitioners were often suppressed, dismissed, persecuted, or forced to operate in secrecy. This episode explores the collective and ancestral wound that formed through that long history, and how it continues to shape the lived experience of practitioners today. The conversation traces patterns of suppression across different societies and time periods, examining how spiritual authority was gradually removed from community-based healers and concentrated into institutional systems. We explore how fear, mistrust, and dismissal of spiritual knowledge became embedded in culture, and how those patterns still echo in modern attitudes toward healing work. A key focus of this episode is how ancestral and cultural memory shows up in contemporary practice. The panel reflects on common experiences such as hesitation around visibility, difficulty holding authority, self-doubt, people-pleasing, overgiving, and discomfort with being fully seen or financially supported. Rather than framing these struggles as individual shortcomings, the discussion situates them within a wider historical and collective context. Throughout the roundtable, guests speak from lived experience, reflecting on their own lineages, training, and relationship with healing work. The conversation is grounded in ethics, responsibility, and repair, exploring how practitioners can recognise inherited patterns without internalising them, and how awareness supports steadier, more embodied practice today. This episode aims to clearly name the practitioner wound, honour its historical roots, and open space for grounded reclamation rather than romanticisation or avoidance.
