I set this tank up just a few months ago so there is still a little aggression, mostly among the aulonocaras but they're all calming down quite nicely. The tank dimensions are 96"30"24" with a 60 gallon sump underneath where I have various filter media,2 drip trays and aquatic plants with 3 powerheads running about 2kgph/hr. There's also a fluval X5 to aid circulation/filtration. The rock is lace rock, aragonite substrate, a lot of dead coral and shells to buffer the water and the only living plants in the tank itself is anubias. Malawi and especially tanganyika cichlids are in my opinion the most interesting of all fish, together these two lakes provide the most diverse speciation of fish in the world. Their behavior and intelligence can keep me gazed for hours, the trick is ensuring that no one fish is dominant and none get singled out. The species to the best of my knowledge are as follows: 2 Greenwoodochromis, 1 Frontosa Blue Zaire Moba, 10 Frontosa Cyphotilapia burundi, 1 yellow calvus, 1 white calvus, 3 tropheus phoenix, 5 tropheus kasanga, 1 tropheus duboisi, 1 gold ventralis, 2 julidochromis transcriptus, 1 julidochromis marlieri, 4 neolamprolagus cylindricus,1 leleupi, 1 leptosoma, 1 neolamprolagus, 1 petrichromis, 4 nimbochromis venustas, 2 nimbochromis livingstoni, 1 placidochromis elektra, 1 red empress, 2 placidochromis milomo, 2 fossorochromis rostratus, 1 tangerine tiger, 1 sulfur head, 1 protomelas spilonotus, 5 aulonocaras, 1 moori dolphin/german red hybrid, 2 red jewels, 10ish pseudotropheus, 1 electric yellow, 1 cobalt zebra, 1 vampire pleco, 1 albino pleco, 2 commons, 2 sydontis, 1 featherfin and 1 other catfish.
