We bought this one of 5,856 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix convertible in central Nebraska! 1967 was the only year that Pontiac made a Grand Prix with a drop top, making them fairly sought after. This car came from the same family as the red 1966 Grand Prix, blue 1964 Catalina coupe, 1959 Bonneville convertible, and 1960 Bonneville convertible that I've posted videos of. This car was kept in a better location than the others, which its condition reflects. This was one of the three cars that the family kept registered and drove somewhat regularly, although the Texas inspection sticker from 1991 shows that the car has only had about 3,000 miles put on it in 34 years! Despite being in "race-ready" condition when we bought it and the previous owner putting work into the car, it still needed a couple days of effort before it could be driven around the block, let alone down the highway. In this video I go over fixing certain systems on the car, such as the fuel system, the power brakes, and the convertible top. Although the car did run when we bought it, it didn't have enough power to drive itself onto the trailer and the brakes were hanging up horribly. The auction also stated that the top would go down, but needed help going back up. Although I'm still waiting on parts to get the car perfectly dialed in, we were able to operate the top, come to a stop, and do interstate speed in the old hot rod. The best part about these 1967 Grand Prixs, other that the option convertible roof, is that the base model engine for them was a 350 horsepower 400 cubic inch engine! I was beyond thrilled that we were able to get the old mill running as well as we did! Other wonderful options on the car are bucket seats with a center console, a Posi-Trac rear end, and 8 lug Kelsey Hayes wheels. Please like and comment, as well as subscribe to the channel! Stay tuned for more Pontiac action!
