Bindnagle Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 801 Gravel Hill Rd, Palmyra, PA 17078, is the oldest church in Palmyra PA and Londonderry Township. The congregation was founded in the 1740s and started meeting in homes. In 1753, the congregation built a log church to hold German Lutheran services. In 1803, the congregation replaced the log church with the brick church that is still in use today. The church has improved by adding a bell tower, had the interior painted, replaced a wood burning stove with a boiler, and added electricity. But it retained all its historic features and is a pristine example of early 19th century architecture that has withstood over 210 years. May it stand for 210 more. Interview with Sexton Timothy M.
