Applying the Science of Toxic Stress to Support Children’s Health

The April ACEs Aware webinar discusses the physiology of toxic stress and share how to apply the science of ACEs and toxic stress to the management of ACE-Associated Health Conditions (or AAHCs) such as chronic lung disease, diabetes, and heart disease for better patient care throughout the life course. This webinar will: • Provide a brief refresher on the physiology of toxic stress and the biological changes that may be a pathway to clinical progression of chronic illness related over the life course as a result of exposure to ACEs. • Discuss the physiology of toxic stress from the perspective of medical providers, who directly address and treat ACE-Associated Health Conditions, such as chronic lung disease and heart disease. • Through real-world examples, equip providers to use ACE screening, evidence-based toxic stress interventions and buffering resources as part of their clinical practice to treat ACE-Associated Health Conditions.
