Shibuya Pop-Up – Vintage Poster Paradise – Woodmarquee x Strangepops x Tokyo Record Style!

On my walk from Shibuya Station to Daikanyama, I stumbled upon a small but incredibly cool outdoor pop-up market in front of Desperado — and what was meant to be a simple commute instantly turned into a Tokyo Record Style adventure. Among the 5–6 pop-up stalls selling everything from antiques to ceramics to funky homewares, one booth stopped me in my tracks: WoodMarquee, run by the wonderful Nakayama-san   / woodmarquee   WoodMarquee specializes in vintage posters, press photos, magazines, and all things beautifully 2-D, curated and displayed like a record store. I flipped through stacks of classics and found incredible pieces featuring Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, The Who, Alice Cooper, and more. There were also gorgeous vintage movie posters and lobby cards, with names like Tarantino, Jim Jarmusch, and David Lynch popping out of the bins. Nakayama-san told me this was only a small part of the shop's full collection — and after chatting about music, art, and curation, she graciously let me film a short video to share with all of you. She also introduced me to Emily of Strangepops, the organizer of the pop-up market:   / strangepops_   Emily kindly invited me to another pop-up event in Koenji on December 20th, right in front of the station.
