Lake Tahoe has a number of beautiful places to paddle board or kayak. Sand Harbor is on the Nevada side of the lake and was a great place to paddle. We reserved a parking spot--which is required if you arrive before 10:30 AM April 15 - October 15--so we could get in when the park opened at 8AM. Reserve your spot by going to www.parks.nv.gov. It's $10 for NV residents and $15 for everyone else. The lake was calm, peaceful, and so picturesque that we took hundreds of photos! We loved how clear the water was, even in deeper parts. And it was the prettiest shade of blue!! From Bonsai Rock (also known as Whale Rock) to the cove near the Thunderbird house and beyond--Sand Harbor was stunning with its huge boulders and beautiful scenery. You will absolutely love this ride. Bring a lunch and enjoy the view.
