I arranged this classic Black Sabbath (R.I.P. Ozzy) song for my middle school band. I was obsessed with this song and the eponymous album (1970) when I was in jr. high. Still love it! Certainly one of the best Heavy Rock albums of all time. It has been super fun to play it with them. There are a several great little teaching opportunities in this arrangement: -The trills are new for my woodwinds. -Good practice for accents. -The 16th notes at C are a nice little challenge. -The contrasting section at E is for practicing cantabile phrasing. -There are a couple chromatic notes that were new for my students. -Super awesome electric bass part! -Fun drum kit part too!
