Bed of Chaos really didn't deserve a slightly-higher-than-average-quality thumbnail, but I couldn't really figure out how to do the standard template thing I've got goin' on. Awesome mod, I highly recommend playing through it if you're craving DS1 and want a little something extra. Huge thanks to JudgeImpact, or @Impact-sz6ve, the creator of the mod. You can find the download on Nexus Mods. This was done in NG+ with the challenge stone that gives bosses new AI and attacks as well as the challenge stone that increases enemy HP and damage. Bed of Chaos. Usually dreaded by casual players and swiftly firebombed by others, it wasn't actually that bad. For most people, the shittiest part of the fight is the finale, having to drop down onto that stupid branch. The mod just uh, doesn't collapse that part of the floor (until the boss is dead). You can just walk straight to the bug. I believe that to be the only major change? I could be absolutely tweaking but I'm pretty sure there's just less collapsed floor in general. No, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure the floor collapses a lot more in base game... I don't know. Gameplay wise, Bed of Chaos is probably one of the worst """fights""" in the entire Souls series. Dragon God might contend. I gotta replay Demon's Souls after this... Or maybe a modded run of Dark Souls 2? Getting sidetracked, sorry. Almost everything else regarding the Bed of Chaos is cool as shit. I absolutely adore the sound design during the mid-fight cutscenes, sounds like an angel from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I just wish the music didn't restart every single time you broke one of the seals. (Like seriously, the track is nearly four minutes. You'll never hear more than like, a minute of it! Seriously, go listen to it for more than 30 seconds. It's a great song.) The design of the fiery part is also sick as hell, with the giant ominous orb and the two scythe-like tree roots. I haven't done much research, but there's apparently an alternative model and animations for the Bed of Chaos in which it actually moves around. I'd kill to see a fully realized version of that. Hell, I'd kill to see a fully realized version of Lost Izalith. I saw there's a mod that turns the area into a poison swamp, which apparently is what it was originally designed as. Maybe next DS1 playthrough... Anyways, done with the Evil Ass Orange Part of the game. I played through Ceaseless to Bed of Chaos and also edited and uploaded all of these videos in the span of like, five hours. I'm gonna go take the fattest sleep of my goddamn life. Next up...
