Even though the timber gave way and the bell crashed to the stone floor, a miracle occurred—the bell didn't crack, and not a single soul was harmed. ​True to the spirit of the town, the workers gathered together once more, used stronger timber, and hoisted that bell back into the sky where it remains to this day.
