Wednesday is the anniversary of the death of a former slave who is on the road to sainthood. Pierre Toussaint was born a slave in Haiti and became a free man in New York. He died in 1853 as a well-respected figure because of his Catholic faith. Toussaint was declared venerable by Pope John Paul II in 1996. Co-host of 'God's Blueprint for a Happy Life' on EWTN, Deacon Harold Burke Sivers, joins to tell us about Venerable Pierre's early life and how he arrived in the United States. Deacon Harold shares whether he was born Catholic and how he lived his Catholic faith. Deacon Harold discusses how Toussaint spent some time as a hairdresser, who his clients were and how he became so popular. The host of 'God's Blueprint for a Happy Life' explains what is next on the path to sainthood for Venerable Pierre and how he remains relevant today.
