Day 17 of How to Meditate. A 21-day introductory course that will teach you everything you need to know about meditation. I am therapist John Burt, and I’m making this course due to wanting to eliminate any barriers that might be getting in the way of people learning how to meditate. In today’s guided meditation session, we take a step towards healing our perfectionism. Perfectionism is a daily battle I see many of my clients in therapy waging within themselves. You may not know it, but Perfectionism in a lot of cases, is a trauma response. Many of us grew up in environments where being right, or where being the best, was valued and rewarded with attention and love. So, to be perfect was to be loved, to be worthy, and to be good enough for the people we deemed important in our lives. When this is our norm growing up, and we are never given the chance to unlearn this, then we grow up into becoming adults who struggle with perfectionism. Today’s meditation is all about giving the finger, to perfectionism. And taking a small step towards accepting ourselves exactly as we are. I have to give credit where it’s due. This course is Heavily inspired by Jeff Warren’s Mindfulness for Beginners Course. Taking many of the concepts from that course and putting them in my own words. Thank you, Jeff, for your knowledge and inspiration. #guidedmeditation #meditation #MeditationForAnxiety #MeditationForBeginners #stressrelief #MentalHealth #HowToMeditate #Mindfulness #MonkeyMind Follow Me: / the.chocolate.therapist Threads: https://www.threads.net/@the.chocolat...
