This meditation is designed as a practice to build emotional resilience when confronted with ideas that may make us feel threatened. As we navigate life, there are many times when we have an automatic emotional response to things that are said to us or ideas that are shared with us. When we react from a place of fear or defensiveness, we cloud our view of the world and are not able to see clearly. Our automatic reactions make it difficult to listen to others with a clear mind and heart. The idea behind this meditation is that by practicing opening our minds and hearts in a safe space, we can build emotional resilience for our day-to-day lives. This meditation should always be practiced in a comfortable, safe space, where you will not be interrupted. The benefits of this meditation will be more clear in your day-to-day life if you find time to practice it daily or weekly.
