hi everyone!! it has been a while 🫩 but i am back after another random burst of inspiration lol. i've actually been writing a lot, but recently i've gotten into writing novels and it's SUPER fun but really time consuming, so even tho i've also been writing so many snippets in my song folder, i haven't really had the time to share them. but that's about to change, cuz my 2026 goal is to stop talking about the stuff i wanna do and...actually do them lol. one of my goals this year is to perform at an open mic! 😱 anyways, this song is called "from her email drafts," and it kind of spawned out of nowhere one day when i was bored in class and asked chatgpt to generate a random prompt lol. it was just supposed to be a fun, like 15 minute songwriting exercise and turned into a very long ramble that actually was really really therapeutic and insightful and is kind of a whole story/movie scene wrapped in an unsent email lol. this one is so different from what i've posted in the past because it's maybe the first without a typical verse -- pre-chorus -- chorus melody progression and kinda just has a haunting, looping, cyclical tune which works with the story it tells! it is very stream of consciousness, frozen in time, stuck in a memory, replaying the night when he got away, kind of letter that she can't delete but also can't send. i think you can tell i'm like really passionate about this one lol. it's just so new from what i've written before! i love this kind of one-line-slipping-into-the-next, thinking-out-loud type of songwriting and would love to try it more. and i got so invested in this unnamed narrator's story that i wrote a part two called "from his email drafts," and the parallels are so ahhhhh 😩 one of you just! press! send! already! (stay tuned for that one haha! i'm actually prepared ahead of time for once in my life so that video is already made! i plan to post it soon cuz i'm impatient) :D video-wise, i've never been very good with technology but this one was super fun to make! it saved me so much time and was also on-theme to type the actual email draft live and screen-record. so much easier than making each individual lyric frame on canva whew 🫨😮‍💨 those days are over YAY! live typing is the way to go - saved me so much time and it's really satisfying to watch the lyrics appear as they're sung! so even tho i'm a tech dinosaur/boomer, i'm learning a lot haha. ok i will stop rambling now 🤠🫡 if you listen to all six minutes, i am so touched and so grateful! it truly means a lot to have my spilled guts / heart vomit leave the notes app, even if it's just a few ppl who stumble across this and stop to read these words. if you're reading this, i hope you have a lovely day!! i hope you do something that scares you a little, but that you've been wanting to do. that's what i'm doing :) anyways!! last thing: i recently made a music insta (i am finally showing my face lol, part of the do-the-things-that-scare-you and be-a-little-brave and press-send-on-a-draft initiative 😤). it is very bedroom, raw, iphone-leaning-against-laptop, my-cat-licking-herself-noises in the background vibes lol. but really fun and this is the kind of thing that excites me and i'm starting to take that feeling seriously. if i love it, then it matters 😊 lol i was really just supposed to drop the instagram handle but ended up rambling again!!! this is why i have 300+ notes in my song folder loll. k here im really done this time: instagram: fromhernotesapp 💌 email: fromtheiremaildrafts@gmail.com SEND ME AN EMAIL PLS!! ^^ I love emails!!
